Sep16 Run: Colfax School

In order to get in some of those park runs before it gets too dark (boo), let's meet at Colfax school this coming Sunday and hope someone turns up who knows their way around Frick Park!

The run to the runners enjoyed surveying the wooded valley and speculating about Duck Hollow as we ran across the Somerset development on our way to the Waterfront. We joined up with a small but enthusiastic group and ran along the lovely river front trail. Tom read the plaques - that area is full of interesting history and worth a return visit. All of us delighted in a train passing overhead, the red sun breaking through the clouds behind the hulking mass of the old Carrie Furnace steel works and the sighting of two crew boats slicing through the serene waters of the Mon. But, it sure was hot and muggy!
