You can map out a running route and it will tell you the distance - using Google maps. Apparently you can save and share runs as well.

Go to the link and on the search page, enter "Sq. Hill" for the location and "Pittsburgh" for the city. The regular Wednesday/ Friday run is called the "East End Runners Wed Fri Loop" - it should be the only one that comes up with those search terms.

These sites should also be good for mapping out walking routes when you are visiting a new place. I get frustrated with the mapping sites geared to cars that will not let you go the wrong way on a 1-way street :-)
