February 25 Run: Start at Biddle's Escape, 401 Biddle Ave., Wilkinsburg

That's it!  We're starting at Biddle's again, Biddle Ave. at S. Trenton - hoping the croissants down the street at Madeleine's will also be there.  Sorry again for a quick posting - too much is happening these days!

February 18 Run: meet at Big Dog Coffee, 2717 Sarah St. on the South Side

(Thank you Wendy for sending this!)
Happy Galentine's Day! (with apologies to recipients of this list who are not gals)
It was all walkers who set out from Biddle's Escape this past Sunday. We power strode through Swissvale, Edgewood, Wilkinsburg and Pittsburgh (aka Regent Square) and landed at the completely charming Madeleine Bakery, a short block from Biddle's, where Karen greeted us with two luscious treats: an almond croissant, baked to perfection, and an equally impressive kouign-amann.

  • Year of the Dog commencing this Friday (see subject line of this post)
  • Walking with people vs. walking with dogs (both good, but communication different)
  • 2 Dope Queens podcast
  • The American Headache Society per Laurie - who knew?

February 11 Run: start at Biddle's Escape - 401 Biddle Ave. in Wilkinsburg

Just a quick note this time to meet at Biddle's Cafe, 401 Biddle Ave. in Wilkinsburg, near Regent Square.  I don't have time to summarize the multitude of endorsements from last week but will hold onto them for another post.  I'll be traveling this weekend so make sure to delegate someone to do next week's message.  Stay warm and have fun!

February 4 Run: From 61B Cafe in Regent Square

We'll start at the 61B Cafe on Braddock Ave. in Regent Square, where we haven't been for a while, and which gives us various options which may be needed due to dubious weather conditions.  But remember:  it never rains on the run!  Or the walk, as we now have that too.

Last week we had the pleasure of running through District 8 with a District 8 expert: Erika Strassburger, who pointed out along the way what's been happening, district-wise, and gave us some tips on how to keep more things happening.  Lots of chatting time hanging out near that nice fireplace
at the Coffee Tree.  Also those adorable little seltzers they give you with an espresso.

Endorsements:

  • MyBurgh App - tell the city what needs fixed!  See photo below, which we reported on the spot.  Someone also mentioned that you can report rabbits?  Also has a GPS tracker, and can tell you where the snowplows are, and various cool nerdy things.
  • CBD - the part of cannabis that you can put on your feet.
  • Blundstones, speaking of feet - the new Uggs but much cuter.  Watch out for fakes, though.
  • Pittsburgh Parking Chairs and the struggles thereof.
  • Snow Angels - several of the group are angelic in this way (and undoubtedly others.) But they need to be assigned closer to home when the roads are a mess.
  • The old W bus - another thing that is not there anymore - can we get it back?
