Because the Race for the Cure will likely be causing traffic congestion, we opted for a simple Mother's Day run starting at Commonplace - we will make it up as we go.
"Renegade Runners" was what one person aptly called us this Sunday as we traveled on part of the marathon course. As has been the case in the past we were cheered by some good-natured spectators and enjoyed the near empty streets. It is a rare pleasure to run right down the middle of 5th Ave. surrounded only by East End Runners. While the temperature at 7:00 was pleasantly cool, we could see that things would be heating up for the marathoners. Congratulations to all of you who competed in the both the 1/2 and the full!!!
It was just warm enough that we sat outside with our coffee. I can't remember what we discussed but you know it was interesting!
