Agreed upon yesterday in Coffee Tree, but possibly open to change:
Marathoners - will meet, some with cars, at the Coffee Tree at 6:45 (run begins at 7:30 on the South Side - all the info: http://www.spiritofpittsburgh.com/.) At least two of our group yesterday pledged to drive. Here's what the race website says about parking: "Southside Works is a retail mall type of facility and they have both garage and outside parking lots as well as on street parking in and around this area."
Non-marathoners - will meet at the Coffee Tree at 7 for an spontaneously-generated run, all possibilities are open!
Don't forget - clocks move back an hour the night before!
Yesterday's 3 Rivers/3Bridges run was predictably glorious, rising sun glinting off the water, perfect temperature, trees at their best fall color . The dedicated group that started in Squirrel Hill/Phipps appeared so energized that they looked as if they could have done it all over again. Amy showed us an amazing gadget you can wear on your wrist that maps, measures and records everything run-related, probably including how much coffee you drank afterwards.

Oct. 25 run - Three Rivers/Three Bridges
Today's run started out in an appropriately spooky October way, as we headed down the Schenley trail in the semi-darkness, past a port-a-potty emitting weird battle sounds, according to Wendy. But soon it lightened up, and we were treated to the glowing gold and pink forest scenery that we wait for every year. Next week's run will provide a training opportunity for those who are running the half-marathon. The official run will be the famous Three Rivers/Three Bridges Run downtown, starting at 7 at the Tomb of the Unknown Bowler (aka PPG Place, possibly now with the skating rink) downtown. And of course, for the intrepid, a run to the run starting at Phipps. Last time you guys did this, you left there at 6:15, so probably that's the starting time. I'll stop at the Coffee Tree around 6:40 in case anyone wants a ride. Anyone else?

Oct 18 Run: Wendy Bennett Trail Head
Although I was not able to run this past Sunday (I was hiking in the Laurel Highlands), I got a call suggesting a run through Schenley Park starting at the Wendy Bennett Trail Head (where the Barlett and the Blvd meet) so that we could enjoy the fall colors. Sounds good to me - see you there!

Oct 11 Run: Temple Sinai on Forbes for a Sukkot Run
This Sunday offers another opportunity to expand your cultural/spiritual world (if you are not Jewish) - Elaine Mormer will lead a run around Squirrel Hill looking for different sukkah's, those little enclosures with branches on top that have popped up right now as part of the Sukkot holiday: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukkot
Meet in the sukkah in the back of Temple Sinai, which is at the corner of Forbes and Murdoch.
After rowing hard for two races in the Head of the Ohio, I was only able to jog around Squirrel Hill while the rest of the group enjoyed the pastoral meadows of Allegheny Cemetery. I did join everyone for coffee and everyone was in a good mood so the run was obviously a success - Virginia and Aimee liked it so much that they ran all the way back!
