July 31 Run/Walk: Meet at Biddle's Escape, corner of Biddle and Trenton in Wilkinsburg

Meet at Biddle's Escape, where there is an outdoor patio AND an indoor bathroom, and coffee too.  Plus nearby are some delectable treats at Madeleine's if you can deal with the line.  On our route we can try to peek at the monster cranes and gigantic beams now creating the New Fern Hollow Bridge.  Progress is being made somewhere!

Last week's turnout was impressive, maybe more so than the vintage cars that populate Schenley Park every year.  Some malcontents (like me) wondered why we don't show off electric cars with equal hoopla.  We crowded around the 61C outdoor table to endorse:

• Our visit to the studio of acclaimed local artist Ron Donoughe soon - here's a Doodle poll to help figure out the best date and time.
• Grilled fennel
• Quantum Theatre's The Cherry Orchard, outdoors on Hazelwood Green - superb!  But move fast - only until this Sunday.
• Buffalo Rose is back! This Sunday night at the Blues & Roots Festival
• Thriller to watch: The Girl from Oslo
• Classics to watch:  Legally Blonde, MASH
• Ummm, not classic:  FBoy Island
• Read: Get Up and Ride - real talk about the GAP trail
• Pedal Pittsburgh on 8/28 - will RG have a team?
• Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club has weekly rides
• And even more for your bike (or scooter, or feet) - Open Streets tomorrow, Saturday for a change.

July 24 Run/Walk: Meet at 61C cafe in Squirrel Hill for annual Vintage Car review

Summer's here and the time is right... for very short messages:  It is vintage Grand Prix this weekend so we'll meet at 61c and check out the cars in Schenley Park per RG tradition.

Also of course it's time for Dancing in the Street - but what's happening with Roland Ford??  You'll have to come on Sunday to find out.

July 10 Run/Walk: Meet in front of Maxon Towers, corner of Forbes and Denniston in Squirrel Hill

A treat this Sunday:  Judy has generously offered an inside visit to the famed Maxon Towers Apartments.  Meet at the corner of Forbes and Denniston.  Due to a one-serve coffee apparatus, either bring your own or we can get it at Starbucks across the street.  We can ponder whether the Maxon may be in our future.  It has a pool!

Last Sunday we had another peaceful and delicious treat in Joanne's comfy backyard after a Highland Park run.  And a surprise celebrity visit from Tom and Kay for the July 4th holiday run, during which we reflected on the fact that it takes at least a decade to learn each other's last names.  Twice the time for talking and endorsing:

• Buy Nothing Project - getting and giving for free, worldwide and locally since 2014
• Ron Donoughe, artist - we're going to visit him!
• Better Homes & Gardens real print magazine - better than ever
• Raystown Lake - biggest lake entirely in PA - who knew?
• Black Moshannon State Park - another giant lake. It means moose stream but doesn't seem to have any.
• Mystery staircases.

July 3 Run/Walk: Meet at 7 am in front of Joanne’s house, 6041 Grafton St., in Highland Park.

Short and sweet:  

On Sunday we meet at 7 am in front of Joanne’s house, 6041 Grafton St., in Highland Park.

Then, there is the usual holiday run on the 4th, Monday morning, 7:30 am, at 61C in Squirrel Hill.
